Finsbury Circus Pavilion is located between two major public transport hubs, Liverpool Street Station and Moorgate Station, which is currently receiving expansions through Crossrail. The City of London Corporation is intending to restore the Grade II-listed Finsbury Circus park area with new landscape design and a new Pavilion to operate as café/bar, as well as serve as a multi-functional space to hold events. An additional building is also proposed to work as the City Garden Staff Office, including a yard.
XCO2 are completing the detailed M&E design for the project after successfully completing environmental services and M&E design of the planning scheme. Environmental design modelling was completed in order to inform the architecture through advising on fabric build-ups, glazing specification, overhang depth and natural ventilation openings. The project uses ASHP technology to provide heating and hot water to the buildings, MVHR ensures heat loss is minimised and low energy lighting and controls will further reduce electrical use on the scheme.
