Ellie Burkill
Environmental Consultant
Ellie joined XCO2 as a graduate in 2022 and was promoted in January 2023. Having specialised in energy during her undergraduate engineering degree, Ellie went onto study an MSc in Environmental Technology at Imperial College London. It was here that she realised her particular interest in decarbonisation of the built environment.
Before joining XCO2, Ellie worked in built environment policy, where she collaborated with heat pump and fabric efficiency manufacturers and installers to influence policy reforms.
At XCO2, Ellie has conducted energy and overheating assessments using IES VE and SAP, as well as compiling energy, sustainability, and circular economy statements. She is working to build her capabilities in these areas, as well as grow her knowledge in others, including whole life-cycle carbon, passive design, and post-occupancy evaluation.
Ellie is currently supporting the development of the UK NZC Buildings Standard, through her role as secretariat within one of the task groups.
