XCO2 are proud to announce that Greenwich Millennium Village has been shortlisted for a Housing Design Award 2013. XCO2, in collaboration with Jestico + Whiles, Peter Barber and Studio 54, produced the Energy Statement, Sustainability Statement, Daylight and Sunlight Analysis Report for Phases 1 and 2 of the Greenwich Millennium Village Ltd in 2011.  The project, constructed on what was a heavily contaminated industrial site, covers a total area of 6 hectares and is comprised of 1,746 homes and a variety of commercial units.

The development, situated on the Greenwich Penisula south of the River Thames, includes a centralised energy centre housing a CHP engine, and a district heat network. Photovoltaic panels located on the roofs of the blocks also reduce the environmental impact of the development. All of the dwellings incorporate energy efficient design.
Additionally, detailed microclimate analysis of the proposed development  was undertaken regarding the potential daylight, sunlight, overshadowing and wind impacts.
