A new purpose-built, community-led workspace located within the London Borough of Lambeth, the 2,000sqm site comprises two buildings delivering over 1,000sqm of light-industrial workspace, low-rent studios and co-working spaces, alongside the community growing project, Loughborough Farm, and the Platform community café.
A “fabric-first” approach was adopted, incorporating high insulation levels, thermal mass, and south-east facing windows to maximise solar heat gains and natural ventilation for cooling during summer. There is an anaerobic digestion facility that will utilise the food waste associated with the community kitchen facilities, and photovoltaic panels to provide the development with zero carbon electricity.
