XCO2 completed the M&E design, energy, carbon and environmental consultancy for the redevelopment of the Broadwater Farm estate, Haringey. The project for Homes for Haringey (HfH) includes the refurbishment of 700 homes, the demolition of three existing blocks and construction of 294 new council homes.
XCO2 worked with Karakusevic Carson Architects to design the scheme to tender over an 18-month planning and consultation period. In March 2022, the scheme was backed by 85% of residents who responded to the ballot and planning permission was awarded shortly after.
A number of interconnected services were completed by XCO2, including: M&E design, utilities advice, whole life carbon, circular economy, overheating, air quality, energy strategy, sustainability strategy and also acted as the BREEAM Communities Assessor.
