Through XCO2’s engagement with Islington Sustainable Energy Partnership (ISEP), we have been supporting local communities and social enterprises to bring about energy savings and improvements to the existing building stock, helping to support local charitable and public organisations via the Islington Community Energy funding.

An energy audit was carried out for Paradise Park Children’s Centre, during which XCO2 have investigated the existing mechanical and electrical services in the building and identified several potential improvements to reduce operational energy use and carbon emissions and to improve thermal comfort.

The key recommendations included installing external shading, improvements to the ventilation and lighting systems, and install PV. Furthermore, XCO2 provided support in quantifying the potential savings and in preparing funding applications.

Other projects in the context of the Community Energy fund included an energy audit of a 60 flat existing building, and an architecture practice’s office.
