Regeneration of the Golf Links Estate, in the London Borough of Ealing, has been carried out over the past few years and has been led by safety concerns, in particular blocks arising from structural issues.
Phase 3 of the estate redevelopment scheme on the Golf Links Estate comprises the demolition of two blocks, Alnmouth and Portrush Courts and replacing them with 147 affordable homes. This represents a significant opportunity to continue the ongoing improvement of the estate by replacing these existing blocks with a high quality, modern and
sustainable development that better connects to the wider estate while continuing to provide 100% affordable housing.
XCO2 have been appointed to provide MEP, environmental and Passivhaus consultancy to support the reserved matters application of the 147 dwellings within three new buildings with 140m2 of non-domestic space on the ground floor of block A. The scheme has been designed with a fabric-first approach to reduce energy demand and meet the Passivhaus Standard. It is expected to be one of the largest certified schemes in the UK upon completion.
Sharing Ealing Council’s commitment to their wider sustainability goals, the design has been embedded with strong sustainable principles including a holistic renewable energy strategy of ASHP and extensive solar PV panel array.
