Man-made and natural features shape the site’s microclimate and how buildings and external spaces perform, therefore being an important consideration in the design process.

Using computational fluid dynamic tools and tested principles of microclimate design, XCO2 can advise masterplanning teams on measures to mitigate or make the most of site features for the benefit of wind, ventilation and thermal comfort.

We can also test urban schemes for their effect on pedestrian comfort and neighbouring buildings, to inform and support developments at planning stage.
