XCO2 worked with Carbon Sense to produce a strategy which sets out how to quantify, report on, reduce, and communicate CO2 reductions related to the Honda UK Langley site.
This report included information on quantifying, looking at the existing energy use and associated emissions and initial recommendations on how to reduce energy use and emissions on site.
To help instigate reductions in energy use, the following steps were recommended:
– Set up regular reporting on energy use and emissions in the form of
a building log book which would regularly record energy use, the way
systems are operated and any changes made.
– Undertake detailed sub metering. This would help to target key energy
users and target them for reduction. Sub meters may include displays to
raise awareness of energy use.
– Instigate changes and keep track of them with reference to the
established baseline.
