A substantial new integrated resort development on the Cotai Strip in Macau. The scheme will be circa 250,000sqm and encompasses two hotel towers, offering approximately 900 rooms and suites, set over a podium containing car parking, commercial space, a cineplex, and one of the world’s largest water parks.
XCO2 are sustainability consultants and assessors on the project. The development will be assessed using BREEAM International New Construction 2016 and the Chinese Green Building Design Label (GBDL).The extensive scheme is aiming to achieve BREEAM Excellent and GBDL 3 Stars. A façade optimisation study and building services load profiling was also carried out by the XCO2 team.
The project took home the ‘Regional Award, Asia’ at the BREEAM Awards 2021. The award highlights the design and implementation of the integrated resort expansion project’s targeted sustainability strategy, as well as the project’s contribution towards achieving Melco’s carbon neutral and zero waste goals.
